Exciting News and a New Direction!

Welcome to my first post as part the amazing Design Team at Frosted Designs I am so excited to be joining them, and look forward to being a part of the Fortnightly Friday Challenge along with some incredibly talented crafters!

So the theme this time is "Which Direction?" I love Kaisercraft products and so chose to use a mixture of their papers and embellishments. The background of Seahorses and Shells is from the Sandy Toes collection and everything else is from the New Boarding collection. I gave the whole tag including the flowers and tower a thin coat of gesso, to mute the colours, and give it a French Shabby Chic look.

The arrows to point to the direction of my destination "Paris" a city I love and can't wait to visit again, soon I hope!!

So thank you for your visit and please check out the amazing inspiration from the rest of the DT via the link above, and get creating!!!!

Sandy Toes is all about the seaside with gorgeous papers perfect for a holiday scrapbook, and Blue Bay has a real mix of everything from beautiful roses to shabby peeling paint, and is just gorgeous!
So if you are near by, pop in say hello and check out these gorgeous new collections :)

IndigoBlu Butterfly Canvas

Yesterday my friend Cheremane and I spent the whole day in my kitchen working on a new canvas each. We had a great day filled with paints, inks, stamps, dies and embellishments (and my new hot glue gun :) along with lots of other goodies!

Firstly I primed my canvas with white gesso, and while that was drying I created  a patterned paper using one of the new Limor Webber/IndigoBlu stamps in Hawaii Blu Stazon Ink.
I ripped this and added sections to the now dry canvas, rolled the edges back and added Peacock Feathers distress Ink around the edge of the papers, and also the canvas itself. When that has dried I added a Doily and frame, then covered the whole thing in a coat of gesso. The Distress Ink ran a little into the white of the canvas, which gave it a shaded look, which I love.
I stamped out three Dinkie Butterflies onto white card, cut them out and inked around the edge of the wings with Peacock Feather Distress ink. Then added them onto the canvas along with a few flowers, inked again with Peacock Feathers, and also some pearls.
I'm pleased with the finished result :) so am going to enter it into the Use Something New Challenge at Country View Crafts

Craft Stamper January Challenge

This January there have been a few changes at the Craft Stampers Take It Make It Challenge Blog we are now going to alternately run challenges, so this month it is "take a stamp" and the next month will be "take a technique".
We will also have two winners every challenge, one that will be randomly selected to win the physical prize and one chosen by the Design Team, who will then have their work published in the Craft Stamper Magazine and also have a Guest Designer Slot and Winners Profile!!!
So we start the ball rolling with stamping, anything you like, just use stamping.

I'm lucky to demostrate for IndigoBlu and was given the new stamps designed by the fabulous Limor Webber in conjuntion with IndigoBlu the week before Christmas, and I can't stop playing with them.
They are fantastic, but sorry folks, they won't be available to buy until the end of the month, so this is a sneaky peep, and there are many more fabulous designs to come!!!
Just take a look at this fantastic prize that's up for grabs for one lucky winner!!!

And yes it is so big it needs not one, but two photo's to fit it all in!!!! What a fabulous prize :)

Dragons Dream TIO - Turquoise and Bling!

Welcome to our first challenge of the New Year over at the Dragons Dream TIO Blog with little old me choosing the theme of Turquoise and Bling, and as always at least one real stamp.

So using plumes of Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, (sorry couldn't resist that one :) to colour my tag, I stamped over with Birgit Koopsen's fabulous "Layered Strips" stamp in Archival Jet Black, for a total contrast.

The star's were a free die with Simply Homemade before Christmas and I just love the shape of them, cut from the heavily spritzed watercolour card, I think every colour of mica is on that sheet, you will be seeing more of it!! To finish off I added a few turquoise gemstones from my stash for some sparkle and job done.

So we would like to see Turquoise, bling and as always at least one real stamp on your tags, and don't forget to check out what the rest of the team have been up to, their links are all on the challenge blog along with a link to our newest team member!!!!

A little inspiration from us Demonstrator's over at the IndigoBlu blog today

Challenge 23 Glitz and Glamour is still running over at the IndigoBlu blog and it's the Demonstrator's turn to give you a little more inspiration.
My base tag has been inked with a mix of Distress Inks including Peacock Feathers, Shabby Shutters and Tumbled Glass, adding bubbles, and then the sentiment in Archival Ink before stamping out the fish from the "Under the Sea" plate in FlitterGlu then adding the very gorgeous Teal and Faded Green glitters over the top. It's very sparkly in real life, but hard to get a good picture of.
So there you have it get Glitzy and Glam and join in!!!

Frosted Designs Challenge - White as a Snowflake

The challenge over at the Frosted Designs Blog is White as a Snowflake, thankfully we don't have any snow here at the moment, although Mount Snowdon looks beautiful!
This is one of my favourite stamps "Winter Wonderland" from IndigoBlu, stamped out in Archival Jet Black over blended Distress Inks, then double sided sticky sheet added and filled with  gorgeous iridescent glitter, so sparkly in real life.
I die cut a circle from the image and surrounded it with two of the Mariane crescent dies to form a circle frame. To finish off I added a mixture of snowflake dies from Spellbinders.
Without a Christmas sentiment this could easily be a winter Birthday card.

You're a Star!!!

After a little break over the Christmas and New Year it's time to get the desk messy again!!!
I've been cleaning out my spritzing bottles of the metallic paints that were in them, ready to mix up some new colours. So instead of wasting any of those gorgeous colours, I made up some more sheets of sparkly papers to use in future projects.
I used the dies that came free with Homemade magazine before Christmas to cut out my stars, and the word "STAR" was stamped with the IndigoBlu Design Alphabet stamps.
To finish off I added a couple of gems and a loop of beading wire from my stash.
I'm going to enter this into the ABC Challenge - Anything Goes

Happy New Year
